  taken from the idea of food photography and food styling from high gloss magazines, I wanted to take these domestic and wholesome references and make them go awry. In all actuality these magazines evoke lust, pleasure, and "original" sin.

Artists' arms were covered in bread dough and left to rise. Dough was then baked onto arms with a blow torch.

A anatomically correct cast bread skull was photographed in the style of Irving Penns'famous photograph, Bread, Salt, water. The mold was made from a real skull.

Banana peels were flattened into a grid and skulls that were traced from a flemish still life painting were cut out from the peels. Skulls were switched with each other, much like offset printing techniques. Photographs were taken three times a day as banana peels decayed.

Skull Lollipops that were given out in Mexico during the "Day of the Dead festival were left in my studio for two years to undergo differing climate changes. The second summer they were photographed melting much like blood.

A cream puff swan from an Italian pastry shop was left to decay on a bed of strawberries and soil. Swan was photographed three times a day for two months.
